Your account and this notice
To use Job Applicator you must sign in with a Job Applicator account. You accept the Terms and this Privacy Notice once, when you create your account or first sign in. That acceptance is a condition of using the app.
The app has no analytics switches. The data collection described below is part of using the beta. If you don't want it, you can stop using the app and delete your account.
What stays on your Mac and what leaves it
The app can process your résumé, profile, queue, documents, and run history on your Mac. Applications go to employers, Gmail access follows the permissions you grant, and optional API inference sends selected context to your provider. Account and enabled workspace/feed requests go to the service backend. Billing is not currently available. We do not claim that nothing leaves your computer.
What we collect automatically
When you use the app, it sends the following to us. All of it is linked to your account.
- Usage data. Which features and screens you use and when, how long things take, which settings you choose (not what you type into them), and the outcome of actions, for example whether an application succeeded, needs your answers, or failed. We also record the app version, macOS version, hardware architecture, and a random identifier created fresh each time the app launches.
- Job links you add. The full job posting URLs you add to the queue or use to create documents. Before storing them we remove any embedded username or password and known secret parameters such as tokens, keys, and signatures. We also record which job board was detected and whether the app could handle it. We use job links to improve support for more job sites, to find new job sources for Discover, and to detect and prevent misuse.
- Failure and crash diagnostics. Error codes, the step and type of job site where something failed, error messages and stack traces, crash and hang reports from macOS, and a short excerpt of the app's own logs around the failure. Before sending, the app automatically tries to remove your profile details (name, email, phone, address, links, and answers) and your Mac's user folder paths. This removal is best effort. It may miss something, so some personal details could occasionally reach us in a diagnostic.
- Security logs. Our servers see your IP address and request metadata, such as when each request was made. We keep these for security and to prevent abuse.
What these analytics do not collect
Our analytics do not collect your résumé or profile content, generated documents, your application answers, email contents, passwords, credentials or API keys, keystrokes, screen recordings, or session replays.
This is about analytics only. The app still sends your profile data to an employer when you authorize an application, and to your chosen AI provider when you use one.
How we use it
- To run the app and fix problems.
- To understand how features are used.
- To improve support for more job sites.
- To find and build job sources for Discover.
- For security, and to detect and prevent misuse.
Misuse includes spam or mass applications, probing systems with URLs that aren't job postings, and anything else that breaks the Acceptable use policy. We may review the activity linked to an account, and we may limit or suspend accounts.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The app contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We process analytics on our own infrastructure, which runs on our hosting provider, [app backend hosting provider — to be confirmed].
This website
This static website is hosted by Vercel. Installer downloads are served from Cloudflare R2 through our download domain. We have added no analytics scripts, advertising pixels, cookies, contact forms, or sign-in to the site. These hosting providers process request metadata, such as IP addresses and requested URLs, to serve and protect pages and downloads. The account-linked analytics above describe the Mac app, not this website.
How long we keep it
These are our default retention periods:
- Usage events: 90 days as individual events. After that we keep only aggregate counts with no link to any account, for up to 13 months.
- Job-link records: 12 months linked to your account. After that we keep only job-board data with no account link: the job board, the company, and the posting URL.
- Failure and crash diagnostics: 90 days.
- Security logs: 30 days.
If you delete your account, we delete the analytics linked to it within 30 days, except records we must keep for security or legal reasons.
Your rights
You can ask to access, delete, or correct your personal information. Send requests to reuben.roy.10@gmail.com.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, and to delete and correct it. We do not sell or share personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Do Not Track. The app and website do not track you across third-party sites, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to change.
Requests about a recruiter contact in the shared directory are handled under Contact data removal.
Age and availability
You must be at least 18 years old to use Job Applicator. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete the account and its data.
The beta is available only to people in the United States.
Changes to this notice
We will announce material changes in the app before they take effect.
